On 18th May 2024, CSR team at Thomas Philip organized a CSR program in collaboration with the Rumah Anak Yatim Shifa orphanage located in Gombak, Kuala Lumpur. The orphanage is home to 18 children and is overseen by 4 caretakers. The children, aged between 5 to 15 years, come from diverse backgrounds but share a close and kind-hearted bond with each other.

Thomas Philip extended an invitation to the children and their caretakers from Rumah Anak Yatim Shifa to join them for lunch at Barrister’s Brew Café in Desa Sri Hartamas. The CSR team had planned numerous activities to uplift the spirits of the young ones.
The children arrived at Barrister’s Brew by 9.50 AM, commencing the day with simple breakfast and an ice-breaking session. Icebreakers were used as a quick and effective means for the kids to befriend five CSR team members: Aina, Asyura, Sabrina, Didi, and Aisyah.

Throughout the activities, CSR team members encouraged the children to learn and converse in English, bringing them joy as they grasped the basics of self-introduction in English. CSR team also invited Stanley Clown to cheer the kids with so many activities like balloon twisting, magic show, dance and many more.

For lunch, the children and caretakers were served a delicious meal prepared by the chef at Barrister’s Brew. The food received positive feedback from the kids, who eagerly went for seconds. Additionally, they were treated to desserts like fruit tarts and candies.

To conclude the event, each child received a goodie bag. The CSR team hoped that the children thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the event and their interactions with the team.
