Last Saturday, 3rd June 2023, Thomas Philip organised lunch at Barrister’s Brew Cafe with an Orphanage ‘Permata Hatiku’. It is a charitable non-governmental organization in Malaysia located in Setapak, Gombak. This centre manages and welfare shelters for orphans and poor ‘asnaf’ female and male children from the age of 2 to 8. It houses 20 kids currently. Ms. Atikah, Ms. Solehah and Ms. Ummu Aiman are caretakers of these children.

The invitation was to have special lunch with them. We invited a clown to entertain the kids. They were thrilled by balloon sculpting and twisting whereby the clown and his helpers made, at the request by the children in unique shapes like flowers, sword, umbrella and more. 

The kids were thrilled by the magic show which involved animals like a hamster and a white bird. The kids were excited and happy to touch and hold the animals. To add excitement at the party, the clown also surprised the kids with a present. They were dancing, laughing, and enjoying every moment. 

During the lunch, Rezan, our senior associate spoke to the kids and informed them in a child friendly manner what a lawyer does. We were so happy to see the kids enjoying eating the food (made by Barrister’s Brew chefs) cupcakes, and ice cream. They were surprised and delighted to receive a goody bag from Thomas Philip and pocket money from Giat Sepadu Sdn Bhd that willingly to be part of the sponsorship for this event.
