TP Lunch with the Orphanage is our monthly CSR initiative at Thomas Philip Advocates & Solicitors, aimed at bringing joy and celebration to children from registered orphanages.

On 7th September 2024, we welcomed children from Yayasan Sunbeams Home to our program. This self-supporting, non-governmental foundation cares for displaced, abused, and neglected children, including those from the Orang Asli community. Yayasan Sunbeams Home is located at 57 & 59, Jalan Bunga Melur 11A, Taman Mawar, 56100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The event began with a presentation by Aisyah, one of our paralegals, who spoke about the legal profession in a way that was accessible to the children. She encouraged them to excel in their studies and adopt smart study habits.

Following the talk, the children engaged in physical activities led by a clown and our CSR team, including jumping, clapping, and plenty of laughter. The clown entertained them with a magic show featuring animals like a rabbit and a white dove, which delighted the kids. He also showcased balloon twisting, creating various shapes like guns and swords, ensuring each child received a balloon creation.

For lunch, the children and their caretakers enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Barrister’s Brew Head Chef Badrul, which was met with enthusiastic approval as many kids eagerly requested seconds. They also savored desserts such as fruit tarts, pavlova, grapes, and ice cream.

To conclude the event, each child received a goodie bag filled with treats and stationery, generously sponsored by Thomas Philip. The CSR team hoped the children had a wonderful time and meaningful interactions during the day.
