TP Lunch with the orphanage is our monthly CSR event at Thomas Philip Advocates & Solicitors, designed to celebrate and share joy with children from registered orphanages. 

On 3rd August 2024, we hosted kids from Rumah Hope for a TP Lunch at Barrister’s Brew cafe. Rumah Hope provides a home for over 50 children, aged 5 to 17, under the care of three dedicated caretakers. These children come from diverse backgrounds but share a close-knit and kind-hearted bond. Rumah Hope also serves as a shelter for abused, neglected, and underprivileged children. It is located at No. 45, Jalan 20/2, Paramount Garden, 46300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor. As usual, our team members Sabrina, Didi, Aina, and Gueanderlyne were present to help entertain the children and manage the food arrangements.

The event began with a talk on the legal profession by Aisyah, one of our paralegals. Aisyah explained the role of lawyers in simple terms that the children could easily understand. She also encouraged them to excel in their studies and to study smartly.

Following the talk, the children participated in physical exercises led by a clown and the CSR team, involving activities such as jumping, clapping, and laughter. The clown entertained the children with a magic show, featuring animals like a rabbit and a white dove that the kids were excited to interact with. The clown also performed balloon twisting, creating various shapes like guns and swords, with each child receiving a balloon creation.

For lunch, the children and their caretakers enjoyed delicious meals prepared by Barrister’s Brew Head Chef Badrul. The food was met with enthusiastic approval from the kids, who eagerly asked for seconds. They were also treated to desserts including fruit tarts, pavlova, grapes, and ice cream.

To wrap up the event, each child received a goodie bag filled with edible treats and stationery, sponsored by Thomas Philip. The CSR team hoped that the children thoroughly enjoyed the event and had meaningful interactions with us.
