On 15th June 2024, Saturday, Thomas Philip organised CSR Program in collaboration with Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera. It is a shelter located at Jalan Jaya Baru 3, Taman Jaya Baru, 56000 Kuala Lumpur. This shelter is home to 30 children and is overseen by 3 caretakers. The children, aged between 7 to 17 years old, come from diverse backgrounds but share a close and kind-hearted bond with each other. Thomas Philip staffs, namely Sabrina, Didi, Hannan, Fatin, and Aisyah- also joined in on the event and entertained the kids.

Thomas Philip extended an invitation to the children and their caretakers from Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera to join them for lunch at Barrister’s Brew Café in Desa Sri Hartamas. The CSR team invited Stanley Clown for their fantastic clown service to entertain the kids and planned numerous activities to uplift the spirits of the young ones.

Fatin Umairah Zamros, one of the interns from Thomas Philip, was invited to talk about the lawyer profession in simple terms understandable to the children. This excited the kids, providing them with insight into a profession different from the typical roles they were accustomed to hearing about, such as doctors, engineers, and nurses.

After the informative talk, the children engaged in physical exercises with the clown and all CSR team members, involving jumping, clapping, and laughter. The clown also entertained the kids with his magic show that involved animals for the kids to pet such as a rabbit and a white dove. The kids were heartily excited for having the opportunity to touch and pet the animals. The clown also shared knowledge on how to do balloon twisting with various of shapes like a gun, sword and so on. Each of the kids was gifted one balloon twisting.

For lunch, the children and caretakers were served a delicious meal prepared by the Head Chef of Barrister’s Brew, Badrul. The food received positive feedback from the kids, who eagerly went for seconds. Additionally, they were treated to desserts like fruit tarts and brownies. Besides that, Hannan who is one of our staffs and also part-time baker, baked a beautiful cake with butterfly shape and served to the kids.

In a nutshell, each kid was given a goodie bag that full of edible things that sponsored by Thomas Philip. The CSR team hopes that the children thoroughly enjoyed moments of the events and had enriching interactions with us.
