Lunch with Lighthouse Children Welfare Home Association

13 July 2024

Once a month, Thomas Philip organizes a CSR program in collaboration with registered orphanages. On July 13th, 2024, the Thomas Philip CSR Team organized the TP Lunch with Lighthouse Children Welfare Home Association. The association is located at 115, Jalan Cenderai, Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur, and provides a home for nearly 30 children overseen by 3 caretakers. These children, aged between 5 to 17 years old, come from diverse backgrounds but share a close and kind-hearted bond with each other. Thomas Philip staff members Sabrina, Didi, and Aina also joined the event to entertain the kids.

Thomas Philip extended an invitation to the children and their caretakers from Lighthouse Children Welfare Home Association to join them for lunch at Barrister’s Brew Café in Desa Sri Hartamas. The CSR team invited Stanley Clown to provide entertainment and planned various activities to uplift the spirits of the young ones. Mr.Mathew Thomas Philip is our managing partner also paid a visit to greet the our beloved guests.

During the event, Jason Chong, a lawyer from Thomas Philip, spoke about the legal profession in simple terms understandable to the kids. He encouraged them to study diligently and strive for excellence in their studies. He also shared motivational experiences from his own educational journey.

Following the talk, the children engaged in physical exercises with the clown and all members of the CSR team, involving jumping, clapping, and laughter. The clown delighted the kids with a magic show that included animals such as a rabbit and a white dove for the children to pet. The children were thrilled for the chance to interact with these animals. The clown also demonstrated balloon twisting, creating various shapes like guns and swords, and each child received a balloon creation.

For lunch, the children and caretakers enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Barrister’s Brew Head Chef Badrul. The food received positive feedback from the kids, who eagerly asked for seconds. They were also treated to desserts such as fruit tarts and fresh fruits.

To conclude the event, each child received a goodie bag filled with edible treats and stationery sponsored by Thomas Philip. The CSR team hoped that the children thoroughly enjoyed the event and had enriching interactions with them.
