Internship Dates
February- March 2011

Where do you call Home?
Melbourne, Australia

Where are you now?
Melbourne, Australia

Where have you been in between?
I have travelled substantially since my TP internship, in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia (but have always lived in Melbourne).

Career progression since TP?
Since TP, I completed university and became admitted as an Australian lawyer. I began practise as a lawyer at a law firm in Melbourne, then I worked as an in-house lawyer in a group of companies and then as an advisor to the government. I also completed a Master of Laws part-time (with completing a subject abroad in Italy), volunteered at community legal centres and participated in a conference at the United Nations headquarters in New York.  I also have done some lecturing at RMIT University teaching evidence law.  Currently, I am senior associate to a judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Personal highlights?
Working in-house at a group of companies was a break-through in my career as I was given a lot of responsibility as a junior lawyer, and it combined law with travel- my ultimate passion.  Also working for His Honour Justice Robson at the Supreme Court of Victoria is a wonderful experience, as I am surrounded by great wisdom, mentoring and advocacy every day.

The future…..?
I intend on becoming a barrister at some stage this year and I recently became engaged so I need to plan a wedding too.  I intend to keep travelling when I can, practising yoga and pilates and continuing to learn.  I recently did a short-course on Italian Renaissance Art.

Reflections on your time in Kuala Lumpur and at Thomas Philip?
I had a wonderful time in KL, I am forever grateful for the warm hospitality of Peter especially introducing me to Malaysian cuisine (roti telur for breakfast!). My time at TP also introduced me to litigation strategy which is something I am very passionate about. I loved the working spaces, library and the framed articles on the stair case.  If I ever had my own law firm I would design it based on TP’s offices.   The people at the law firm were each, in their own way very considerate.  I especially remember Monica taking me on the weekend to the Indian quarter of KL and for dinner with her family, which I appreciated immensely.
