Internship Dates
January 1st - 31st 2011

Where do you call Home?
Regardless of where I am in the world, my home will always be Perth, Western Australia

Where are you now?
Boston, Massachusetts. I've been living here since December 2017

Where have you been in between?
I'm trying to complete the challenge of 30 (countries) before 30. While I'm currently 10 short with 18 months left (not looking promising!), I have plans to visit a few European countries in the next year (Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Austria). Since my internship with TP, I've been to New Zealand, Japan, the Netherlands, Finland, US, Canada and the Dominican Republic. I love to travel and hope to do so well into the future.

Career progression since TP?
I've actually joined another form of "TP", known as Transfer Pricing! Since completing my Bachelors of Laws/Commerce in 2012, I've been working for Deloitte, a global professional services and consulting firm, as a member of their International Tax/Transfer Pricing team. Working at a company like Deloitte has given me unimaginable opportunities to advance my career, ranging from supporting my Masters of Laws (Taxation) to providing me an option to build on my career in the United States. While Transfer Pricing has foundations in tax law, I have enjoyed it for its balance of Law and Economics, as well as its requirement for practitioners to 'think globally' about issues.

Personal highlights?
Few big ticket highlights have been: skydiving, bungee-jumping, moving to a new country, completing the Oxfam 100 kilometer trailwalker challenge 3 times!

Interests outside work?
Love my golf and soccer! Miss watching my beloved Eagles play in the AFL but have found a new love in supporting the Boston Celtics and NE Patriots!

The future…..?
I will be in the US for the next few years, at which point I plan to move back to the 'familiar' side of world. I no doubt will need to fuel my passion for travel at some point, so I won't rule out the possibility of working somewhere in Asia in the near future.

Reflections on your time in Kuala Lumpur and at Thomas Philip?
At the time, I had never done anything remotely resembling the TP internship, however I came out richer for the experience. Having never lived away from home prior to that time, I was incredibly touched by the warmth and support that I received from the TP family during my time there. I was also humbled to hear that my friend Jay Randhawa and my minor contribution to the practice (being the inclusion of a Moot competition at the end of the internship) continued for future intern rotations. I treasure the fond experiences and memories I gained from my short time with TP.
