Where you call Home?
Malaysia, Ireland and Australia
Where are you now?
Sydney, Australia
Where have you been in between?
After leaving Thomas Philip I went to Ireland where I worked for 5 years in William Fry, one of the big five in Dublin. I got admitted to the roll of solicitors in Ireland and having gained experience in corporate, insolvency litigation, real estate and property and asset management and investment funds: I decided to qualify and specialise in investment funds.
Last year I got a job offer from Gilbert and Tobin in Sydney, Australia. I moved to Australia in January to work in their corporate advisory department.
Personal highlights?
In addition to qualifying as a lawyer, I have continued to teach yoga, and I am also an aerial silk performer, pole dance teacher and competed in a national level pole competition in Ireland last November. Creativity and balance has been the key to my career progression so far.
The future…..?
I have no idea! Hopefully still lawyering, pole dancing and unravelling from 10 metre silks in Sydney!
Highlights from my time at Thomas Philip?
- Learning that being an awesome electric guitar player and a great lawyer are not mutually exclusive!
- Learning that a firm which is innovative and brave enough to do things differently will breed motivated, happier lawyers.
- High profile cases
- Moot court
